William E. Wright, Sr., age 87, of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania passed away on July 4, 2016. He was born William Earl Wright, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on July 15, 1928, a son of Colonel Charles and Mary Deliah (Thompson) Wright. Bill was a retired Postmaster of the Clairton, Pennsylvania Post Office and a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Clairton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Young) Wright; a son, William “Boo” Wright, Jr.; two brothers, Charles and Ralph Wright; one sister, Dorothy Tullius and two sisters and one brother who died as infants. Bill is survived by his son, David (Leslie) Wright of West Newton, Pennsylvania; daughter, Deborah Wright of West Mifflin; five grandchildren, Heidi (Wright) Wall, William Hostetler, Christopher William Wright, David (Katie) Wright and Danielle (Wright) (Jeff) Kessler; eight great grandchildren, Nicolina and Dominic Wall, Karmen Wright, Aida, Eliza and Sam Wright and Andy and Melody Kessler and a brother, Robert Wright of West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 3 – 5 and 7 – 9 pm and on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 9:30 am until the time of his funeral service at 11 am in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home, 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025. The Reverend Robert Titus will officiate Bill’s funeral service in the funeral home and committal service in the Lebanon Church Cemetery in West Mifflin.
