Warren Conrad Fry

Age 79, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 . He was born January 19, 1932 , in Chappell , Nebraska , to the late Dr. & Mrs. Vernon Fry.
Mr. Fry graduated from Denver University and served in the Army during the Korean War, afterwards he was recruited by Westinghouse Electric as an Electrical Engineer in Pittsburgh . He retired from Westinghouse in the Transportation Division in 1988 and then worked as a Consulting Engineer on the Taipei , Taiwan R.O.C. mass transit system for 6 years. During his time in Taiwan he taught conversational English to a number of anxious Chinese students, many of whom later visited him in Pleasant Hills. After returning to the United States he enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and sang with the Westinghouse Male Chorus until it disbanded in 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn White Fry of Pleasant Hills; 2 sons, Milton (Tammy) Fry of Houston, Texas, Douglas Fry of Battle Creek, Michigan; 2 step sons, Frank White of Monongahela & Jeff White of Elizabeth; 1 brother, Vernon A. Fry Jr. (Laila) of Jamul, California; 2 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; & 1 great grandson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Richard Fry; a sister Ruth Fry; and his first wife Berna Lee Fry.
