RONALD  DEUTSCH

Ronald Lee Deutsch “Big Ron”, age 83 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.  He was born, January 4, 1939, in Belleville, Illinois, one of four children of Frank Fred Deutsch and Doris Matilda (Severit) Deutsch.

Ron served in the US Army in the era between the Korean War and Vietnam War, 1959 – 1961; he was an employee PICCO / Hercules and finished his career when it became Eastman Chemical Company working at the Jefferson Plant in Jefferson Hills.  He loved baseball and coached many youth teams.  Ron loved golfing with his buddies, Friday night Euchre card games with friends, hunting, fishing and watching any Pittsburgh sports team play.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Frank Deutsch.  Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mercedes (Bisogni) Deutsch; two children, son, Scott (Krissy) Deutsch of Jefferson Hills and daughter, Michele (Brian) Karras of Venetia, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Laura (Ben) McClure of Venetia and two siblings, sister, Marlene Larkin of Weaverville, California and brother, James (Barbara) Deutsch of Allenport, Pennsylvania.

Family and Friends will be received on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 1:30 – 3:30 pm and 5:30 – 7:30 pm in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com and on Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 10 am until the time of his funeral service at 11am in the funeral home.  Burial in Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania will be private.
