RICHARD HOUSTON STONEBRAKER

Richard “Stoney” Stonebraker age 75 of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania, formerly of Swissvale, Pennsylvania, died on Saturday, December 31, 2022. He was born in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania on April 9, 1947, one of seven children of Lee Napier Stonebraker and Blanche Elizabeth (Houston) Stonebraker.

In addition to his parents, Stoney was preceded in death by two of his sisters, Marjorie Harrity, and Virginia Chedrick and his father-in-law, George Givens.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen Jean (Givens) Stonebraker; two children, son, Christian Alexander (Michelle) Stonebraker of Portland, Oregon and daughter, Karen Lee (Peter) Petrovich of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Brandon Sandor, Julia and Sarah Petrovich; four remaining siblings, Sarah (the late James) Fleck, John (Eileen) Stonebraker, Charlotte (the late Steve) Teska and Frances (John) Hardic; his mother-in-law, Bernadette (Devinney) Givens; brothers-in-law, Gary Chedrick and George (Maureen) Givens; sister-in-law, Karen Veltre and many nieces and nephews, especially, Kathleen (Dennis) Gregory and Lou (Jenni) Veltre.

Family and Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 1 – 3 pm and 6 – 8 pm in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com. A funeral service for Stoney will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 11 am with his nephew, Pastor James "Dan" Fleck officiating.

Apart from his job at Westinghouse, Stoney was a great “handyman” for family and friends and had a passion for family, travel, football, and food!
