MATTHEW DUYMIC

Matthew Michael Duymic, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Clairton, Pennsylvania on Sunday, November 4, 2018 surrounded by his family.  Born in Duquesne, Pennsylvania on July 19, 1939, he was one of two children of Matthew J. Duymic and Ann M. (Balaban) Duymic.

Matthew worked for US Steel at the Duquesne Works, many years at the South Hills Country Club in Whitehall, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and for Sears at the West Mifflin, Pennsylvania store.  He was a 50 year member of the Croatian Fraternal Union in Duquesne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister’s husband, Kenneth Lewonas and a nephew, Michael.  Matthew is survived by his wife of 57 years, Natalie (Capecci) Duymic; his son, Patrick (Mary) Duymic of Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Julia Marie Duymic; his sister, Marianne Lewonas of Clairton and nieces and nephews, Lea and David, Phillip and Mark and Christopher.

Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 1 – 4 PM and 6 – 9 PM.  There will be a prayer in the funeral home on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Clairton at 10 AM.  Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
