Mary Margaret Sage

MARY  MARGARET  (VAYDA)  SAGE

Mary Margaret Sage, age 68 of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, died on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at home with her husband, Jim, at her side.  She was born on September 2, 1951 in Homestead, Pennsylvania, one of three children of Michael and Margaret (Salaga) Vayda.

Mary Margaret was a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Elementary Education.  Later, she was employed as a travel agent for Fletcher's Travel Agency in Brentwood Borough where she worked as a manager for many years.  Mary Margaret  was also Past President of the Auxiliary of Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Mary Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Jim Sage; two siblings, Dr. Veronica (John) Thompson of North Huntingdon, PA and Dr. Daniel Vayda of South Park, PA.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 from 2 – 3:30 at which time her funeral service (limit 25 people) will be held with Reverend Bob Titus officiating.  Visitation will also be held Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 PM.

Due to the limitations on indoor gatherings visitors to the funeral home will be limited to 25 people at a time and all people MUST wear masks.

With her job, Mary Margaret traveled the world with Jim.
