Marie Ielase Robinson, of Clairton, Pennsylvania, went to sleep quietly at West Penn Hospital in the Hospice In-Patient Unit, in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 7, 2016, 75 years to the day of her birth. She was born, Marie Elaine Carapella on July 7, 1941 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, one of three children of Albert John and Elizabeth Elaine (Cipriani) Carapella. Marie was a member of the Whitehall Church of Christ at Brownsville and Streets Run Roads in Whitehall Borough, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; she worked for Mon Yough Community Services and had retired after 25 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Felix “Sonny” Paul Ielase in 1984 and her two brothers, Johnny and Wayne Edward Carapella. She is survived by her loving husband William Taylor Robinson; three sons, Rocco Charles Ielase of Clairton, Paul Anthony (wife Vickie Hatfield) Ielase of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania and Julien Wayne Ielase of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Austin James Ielase of West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania and Isac Anthony, Dylan JohnPaul and Geniamarie Winnie Ielase all of Jefferson Hills; sister-in-law, Kim (Carapella) Platz of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania; niece, Dana Boyce (husband, Chris) Evans; two nephews, Sonny Anthony (Shawna) Carapella and Joseph Alan Carapella and one grandniece Mercedesz Alexus Boyce.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, from 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM on Monday, July 11, 2016. Marie’s burial will be private. A Memorial Service will be held for Marie on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 5:30 PM in the Whitehall Church of Christ 215 Street Run Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15236 www.whitehallchurchofchrist.com.
