Lois Elizabeth "Liz" Robinson

Liz Robinson stepped out of this world and into the next on Thursday morning, December 12th, 2024. The Lord Jesus had sustained her through cancer since 1997. She is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Liz was born in Lansing Michigan to Apalena and Thaddeus Vance. She deeply loved her siblings who are: Virginia Weaver (MI), Cora Holbrook (KY), and Thad Vance (MI). 

She attended a 2-room schoolhouse until the 3rd grade. She had an avid interest and gift in music, playing the piano as well as the trumpet in high school bands. During this time Liz asked Jesus to be her Savior and sought to serve Him. She attended Shelton College and graduated with honors in Music Education. Throughout her teaching career of forty years, Liz taught in some five Christian schools and even served as a college Music instructor.

At college, Liz met and later married Ben Robinson. They had 3 children: Jeff, Brian, Carolyn, along with an adopted son, Dale. Liz and Ben were a ministry couple at the Bible Presbyterian Church of Grand Island New York and the Wilson Presbyterian Church of Clairton, PA. Liz was a vibrant part of the ministry at Wilson Presbyterian Church involved in the music ministry, singing solos, special music, leading the Wilson Ringers, teaching Sunday School, working in VBS along with various ministries. Many lives were impacted for Jesus and her absence felt deeply.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 4 – 8 pm and Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 9 – 11 am in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com. Liz’s funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11 am at the conclusion of the visitation. Her burial will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 1:30 pm.
