The most important thing to Lois was her FAITH, FAMILY and FRIENDS!

She and her husband, Al were founding members of the St. Thomas A’ Becket Catholic Church. Lois was a “pillar” in her church and community and was strong in her faith. Having a strong relationship with Jesus and making it to heaven were most important to her. She did not see her declining health as just empty, dumb suffering, she offered up in prayer all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren – especially their faith. She wanted to be sure all her family would join her in heaven. In her life she served the Lord and the Church as a Lady of Charity. She was the parish wedding planner for many years and ran the Coffee and Donut service in the earlier years of the St. Thomas A’ Becket Church. Until the last few years, Lois was a daily mass attendee and then would join her church friends for breakfast at local restaurants.

Lois was the glue that held the family together. Lois made sure every family birthday, anniversary or other event was celebrated, especially Sunday Steeler game gatherings. She was known for her candy dishes with an “endless” supply. She loved to play cards and was even known to teach her grandchildren to play for money.

Family and friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com on Monday, September 2, 2024 from 6 – 9 pm and Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from Noon – 8 pm.
