John W. "Corky" McCorkle
John McCorkle, age 78, of Jefferson Hills, PA died Thursday July 14, 2011. John was born August 3, 1932 in Elizabeth, PA son of Walter and Viola McCorkle. He retired from Tube City Iron & Metal in West Mifflin, PA and he was known as "Corky the Clown" for the Tall Cedars and Many Fireman's Parades.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mona McCorkle (dod: 2006) and his sister Hazel Mosena. John is survived by his 3 daughters, Rhonda (Tom) O'Keefe, Cinda (Kevin) Etzel, and Jackie (Larry) Tepe, all of Elizabeth; 7 grandchildren, Tom (Nicole) O'Keefe, Meghan O'Keefe, Jake, Josh and Lukas Etzel, Larry (Megan) Tepe, and John Tepe; niece, Betty Clark and cousin, Harriet Grant.
Friends will be received from 6 - 8 PM on Saturday, July 16, 2011, 1 - 3 and 5 - 8 PM on Sunday, July 17, 2011, and 9:30 until the time of service 10:30 AM on Monday, July 18, 2011 in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 with Pastor David Myers of Elizabeth Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth, PA.
