John A. “Reddog” Mathews, age 60 of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016. John was a lifelong member of the Elrama Gun Club and a member of the 46 Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved shooting.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Russel (Shirley Fox) Mathews; mother, Jane (Wayne Park) Shaw; and a son, William Russel Mathews. John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kimberly Mathews; son, Corey John (Christina) Mathews; granddaughter, Lilliana Michelle Mathews; siblings, William Mathews, Robert Mathews, Joan Patterson, Kathy Fox Truschel, Sandy Fox Mapstone, Neil Fox and Jack Fox; he was also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.
Friends received Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills, PA 15025, 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 PM Thursday, July 14, 2016. His Funeral service will be held at 10 am Friday, July 15, 2016 at the funeral home, burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Park.
