Jean Anderson

Jean Anderson, age 88, of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania died on Friday, June 28, 2013 in Arden Courts of Jefferson Hills, Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania. She was born Jean Reed Manor on September 30, 1924 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania a daughter of John Russell Manor and Ola Martel (Fleming) Manor. Jean managed the Candy Department in Gimbel’s Department Store at the Eastland Shopping Center during the 1960’s and 1970’s. She was a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church of Duquesne; a member and Past President of the Duquesne Women’s Club; a member of the former Duquesne Golf Club and an excellent seamstress.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Eric "Jack" “Swede” Anderson, Jr.; a sister, Eleanor March and a brother, Russell Manor. Jean is survived by four children, two sons, Jack (Barbara) Anderson and David (Carolyn) Anderson and two daughters, Janet (Dennis) Martinich and Donna (Michael) Babjak; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Rosatone, Kristin (John) Weddington, Erica (Chad) George, John (Christy) Martinich, Suzanne (Kevin) McDade, Rebecca (Patrick) Boyle, Lauren (Keith McWain) Martinich, Emily Martinich and Bryan Babjak; 6 great grandchildren, Alyssa Rosatone, Madison, Emma and Liam George, Alexis Weddington and Reese Martinich; a sister - in - law, Phyllis Annamae "Sis" Gallatin; niece, Nancy Douglas and nephew, George Gallatin.
Friends will be received from 1 - 4 PM Sunday, June 30, 2013 and from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM Monday, July 1, 2013 in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 in the First Presbyterian Church of Duquesne, Duquesne Blvd, Duquesne, Pennsylvania 15110, with visitation from 9 - 10 AM in the Chapel and the service following at 10 AM in the Sanctuary. Reverend Judi Slater will be officiating. Jean's burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
