HARRY CLUTTER
Harry W. Clutter age 90, of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, died quietly in his sleep on Sunday morning June 28, 2015. He was born on June 16, 1925 in Nineveh (Greene County), Pennsylvania, and grew up in the Washington, Pennsylvania area, graduating from Trinity High School’s class of 1942. After high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps where he served in World War II with the 423 rd Marine Bombing Squadron in the South Pacific. He was a Corporal whose duties included radio specialist and tail gunner. He served from August 31, 1943 to June 18, 1946. He spent his working career mainly at General Motors Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin, where he retired in 1980 after 30 years of loyal service. Harry was a man who possessed a deep and quiet faith. Within the local church, he served as an elder at the Lebanon Presbyterian Church in West Mifflin, from 1983-1986.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cleo and by two infant brothers. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jayne (Hall) Clutter; a son, James (Nancy) Clutter and a daughter, Jo Ann (Charles) Adams; six grandchildren, Matt (Karen) Clutter, Tim (Jenn) Clutter, Brian (Rachael) Clutter, Lindsay (Alex) McKenzie, Scott (Coralyn) Adams and Kristin (Joel) Hill; seven great grandchildren; one sister Mona (Carl) Sanders and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, with Pastor Dave Morgans of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Lebanon Church Cemetery, also in West Mifflin.
