George Yasko

George F. Yasko, age 86, formerly of Duquesne, Pennsylvania and most recently of Katy, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2022 in Jefferson Hospital. George was born and raised in Duquesne, 1 of 3 children of the late Frank and Anna (Slacta) Yasko.
George graduated from Duquesne High School in 1953 and joined the Marine Corps from which he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1956. He then went on to work for US Steel at the Duquesne Works Plant for much of his career, working his way up to Superintendent of Maintenance and Utilities. He retired young at age 51 and moved to Texas. He was a longtime member of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church in Katy, TX. George’s hobbies included wood working, at which he was very skilled, and working on small engines.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, John Yasko; grandson, Nathan Minoski; siblings, Robert Yasko and Frances Procacina; & nephew, Mark Procacina. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol (Graham) Yasko; son, David (Colleen Smith) Yasko; daughter, Rebecca (Mike) Minoski; grandchildren, Ryan Minoski, Daniel Yasko, Shannon & Lindsey Yasko, and Ryan Smith & Madison Oelschlager; 3 Great Granddaughters, Delilah, Cali & Ravyn; he is also survived by nieces, Karen Kessler and Lynne Canova & nephew, Bob Yasko.

Thursday, May 5th 2022 in the funeral home at 10 am
. His burial will be held in Lebanon Church Cemetery West Mifflin, Pennsylvania 15122, with full Military Honors, immediately following his funeral service.
