GEORGE J. MACKULIN, IV
Geo Mackulin age 30 of Jefferson Hills, died suddenly on Monday, October 12, 2015. He was born February 25, 1985 a son of George John Mackulin III and Suzanne (Seleski) Mackulin. Geo was a Thomas Jefferson graduate, class of 2004 and a Duquesne University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 2013. In between high school and college he was a Staff Sgt in the Army, highly decorated in Special Forces, serving all over the world. His military awards include, Green to Gold Scholarship, John D. McGrath Leadership Award, Two Army Commendation Medals, Two Army Achievement Medals and a Good Conduct Medal. He then served as an ROTC Instructor with the Pittsburgh Battalion. He was a member of the American Legion in Pleasant Hills and the Floreffe Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by three of his grandparents, Althea Seleski, George J. and Marie (Marra) Mackulin, Jr. Geo is survived by his parents, father, George (Georgeanne) Mackulin and mother, Sue Mackulin; sister Krisha (Richard) DiMascio; grandfather, Robert Seleski and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills on Saturday from 4 – 7 PM and Sunday from 1 – 3 and 6 – 9 PM. A prayer will be held in the funeral home Monday morning at 9:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church (Floreffe / Elrama area) at 11 AM. Father Robert Boyle will celebrate the Mass. Geo will be buried with Military Honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 1:30 PM.
