FRANK SZUBRA
Age 83, of the Floreffe section of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at his home with family surrounding. He was born February 23, 1928 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, one of 9 children of Stanley Joseph Szubra and Tillie Barbara (Gazda) Szubra. Frank worked for Westinghouse Electric for 32 years and was a long time youth baseball coach in the neighboring Elrama area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Cecelia (Webster) Szubra (dod: Jan. 20, 2010); his son, Frank Szubra Jr. (dod: Feb. 22, 2010) and all 8 of his siblings. Frank is survived by 2 daughters, Kimberly (Bill) Ashcraft and Barbara (Patrick) Schmidt; daughter-in-law, Traci Szubra and 5 grandchildren, Barbara Danielle Ashcraft, Patrick and Brian Schmidt and Frank III and Michael Joseph Szubra.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM on Friday, April 29, 2011 and 11 AM until the hour of service at 12 Noon on Saturday, April 30, 2011; the Reverend Walt Pietschmann of the Olivet Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery, Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers family suggests donations to his church, the Olivet Presbyterian Church, 726 Fourth Street, West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania 15088.
