FRANK  C.  PAPA

Frank C. Papa, MD, age 68 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 29, 2020 with his wife, Sharon, and daughter, Alyssa, at his side.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 2, 1951.  Frank was a radiologist who was diagnosed with ALS in 2011.  He handled his terminal diagnosis with such grace and optimism and his family believed that his strong will to live led to his much longer survival than is typically seen with ALS.

Frank is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon; daughter, Alyssa Mathews; grandson, Luke Mathews; brothers, Vincent Papa, Richard Papa and Edward Papa and sister, Anita Goldstein.

As per Frank's request, there is no visitation.  A Memorial Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, March 4, 2020 at St. Thomas A’ Becket Catholic Church 139 Gill Hall Road, Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025. Notice of time for the Mass will be forthcoming.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Frank's name to the ALS Association of Western Pennsylvania, 416 Lincoln Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 15209.
