ETHEL MAE DEARFIELD
On August 16, 2022, Ethel Dearfield, of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, passed from this world to live eternity with Jesus Christ. Ethel was born to the late Conrad and Anna Kegler on April 18, 1935, and the youngest of 6 children. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Dearfield and her siblings, Richard and Howard Kegler, Evelyn McConeghy, Norma Norris and Lois Brier. She is survived by nieces and nephews and many special friends especially those from her church.
Ethel was an active lifelong member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church and truly lived her faith as a Christian.
Ethel loved nature and especially all God’s creatures, be they dogs, deer, turkeys, etc. It gave her great delight to see them frolicking in her yard, like children in a playground.
Ethel's deep spirituality led her to participate in many outreach projects and she treasured the mission trips to Mexico and Malawi, Africa as special moments in her life. Through those trips she developed a special fondness for the children of Africa and sponsored several children over the years. Ethel volunteered at Jefferson Hospital and at various projects at Lebanon Presbyterian Church, always seeking to help others and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
In her later years and with declining health, Ethel enjoyed visits from special friends like her Bible Study group and family members.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Grane Hospice and Arrowwood at Southwestern for their loving care and support to Ethel.
Although we will miss her, Ethel is now at peace with the Lord and no longer in pain or suffering.
"I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles." Psalm 34:4
If you wish to make a memorial contribution in her memory, please send to Lebanon Presbyterian Church, 2800 Old Elizabeth Road, West Mifflin, PA. 15122.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Lebanon Presbyterian Church in the Parlor, from 12 – 2 p.m. with her funeral service in the Sanctuary at 2 p.m. Ethel will be buried at a later date in Lebanon Church Cemetery next to her husband.
