Eleanor (Lazur) Abrasheff

Eleanor Abrasheff, age 89 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, passed away at her son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Beth’s home in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania surrounded by family.  She was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Eleanor Margaret Lazur, one of five children of John and Mary (Hruposky) Lazur.

Eleanor was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and faithful friend to all. She studied at Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and later was a beloved au pair to many families including her own for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kosta “Kutch” Abrasheff and all four of her siblings.  Eleanor is survived by her three children, daughter, Lydia (Robert) Caldwell of Naples, Florida and sons, Dan (Beth) Abrasheff of Elizabeth and Marc Abrasheff of West Newton, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Rebecca Brinker of Jefferson Hills, Sara (William) Hupp of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Alexis (Trevor) Miller of Evans City, Pennsylvania; six + great grandchildren, Jayden, Jonah, Vera, the + (soon to come), Kennedy, Bryce and Levi.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 1- 3 and 6 – 8 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 www.stephendslater.com. A Memorial Celebration of Eleanor’s Life will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 11 AM in the Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church 199 Old Clairton Road Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15236. She will be buried next to her husband, with a family ceremony at a later date in Round Hill Cemetery Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
