EDWARD GEORGE KRIZAN
Edward Krizan, age 88, of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at his home with family by his side. He was born on September 5, 1932.
He is survived by his wife, Juliet (Rudolph) Krizan; their three daughters, Lisa (Scott) Anderegg of Richmond, Virginia, Susan (David) Raszewski of Columbia, Maryland and Deana Krizan of Baltimore, Maryland. He is the proud grandfather of five grandchildren, Jenna, Nicholas, Isabella, Andrew and Madeleine. He is also survived by his brother, William Krizan and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Edward served in the Army during the Korean Conflict as an administrator at the artillery school in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was a graduate of Duquesne University and pursed a career with United States Steel for 40 years. Upon retirement, he remained very active, helping his children, members of his extended family and neighbors, doing household projects and yard work.
He was an engaged reader of the news, fiction and non-fiction, all of which he would discuss with his wife and children. He loved verbal sparring about politics and current events and telling and reading stories. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren who would spend weeks in Pittsburgh during the summers.
He was an active member of St. Thomas A’Becket Church, part of the newly formed Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish. Edward was an avid traveler and took many long-distance trips with his wife, rail trips across the country and transatlantic cruises to Europe. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed traveling to Sarasota, Florida to visit family and to watch the Pirates during spring training.
Due to COVID19, there is no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Edward on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 10 AM in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Thomas A’Becket Church 139 Gill Hall Road, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025
