EARL GRIMES
Earl Grimes, age 87, of Ridge Road in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Earl was born August 10, 1923 in the Belle Bridge section of Glassport, Pennsylvania, a son of Wilbert and Clara Grimes. He was a Pipe Fitter at US Steel’s Clairton Works, a WW II Army Veteran and a member of the Olivet Presbyterian Church in West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae (Whitfield) Grimes (dod: 1990) and his 5 siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Lori (Thomas) Ference of Finleyville, Pennsylvania; his son, Bob (Alice Koza) Grimes of Jefferson Hills; 7 grandchildren, Michelle, Haley, Kristopher, Kevin, Erin, Fawn and Jerrod and 1 great granddaughter, Angeleah.
Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM on Friday, May 20, 2011 in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10 AM with the Reverend Walt Pietschmann, of the Olivet Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Elizabeth Township, Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
