DOROTHY (CLARK) BRAUN
Dorothy Braun, age 86, of Pleasant Hills, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, died on Monday, April 2, 2012. She was born Dorothy Isabel Clark on April 6, 1925 in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, the only daughter of John and Nellie (Crawford) Clark. Through her mother’s family, The Crawford’s, Dorothy was a descendent of Betsy Ross, the designer of our American Flag. She graduated from Clairton High School in Clairton, Pennsylvania, in 1943 and worked for US Steel at the Clairton Works and in the Downtown Pittsburgh office during the 1940’s and 1950’s.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son William Clark Braun (January 18, 2011) and all of her three brothers, Crawford, John and Ken Clark. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Dr. William G. Braun; one son, Daniel K. (Mary) Braun; eight grandchildren, Lindsay, Hilary, Kelsey, Joshua, Nathan, Benjamin, Jarrod and Zachary and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11 AM with Reverend Robert Titus of Lebanon Presbyterian Church in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania officiating. Burial will follow The Lebanon Church Cemetery, also in West Mifflin.
