Donald  “Donnie”  Yanko

Donnie Yanko, age 71 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, died on October 2, 2021.  He was born on January 4, 1950, in Canonsburg, Washington County, Pennsylvania one of 5 children of William John Yanko and Mildred (Brilla) Yanko.

He was a mechanic and truck driver for over 50 years.  Donnie loved classic cars, especially his 1965 Pontiac LeManns, loved car shows and “westerns” on television and was an avid Steelers fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Yanko.  Donnie is survived by his wife of 47 years Barbara “Barb” (Hohn) Yanko; two children, Jamie (Gregg) Geis of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania and Jesse (Kayla) Yanko of Washington, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Brynn Geis; three siblings, his twin sister, Dolores (Mike) Delorea of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, Teresa (David) Walsh of Jefferson Hills and William (Shelley) Yanko of Forward Township, Pennsylvania; his sister-in-law, Darlene Zimmerman of Louisiana and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM.  A Blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday during or at the end of the visitation.  (A notice of the time will be forthcoming).
