DAWN (GARLAND) MARKOVICH

Dawn Markovich age 66 of Baldwin Borough in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania died suddenly on Monday, April 5, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on November 12, 1954 in Pittsburgh the daughter of Henry Garland and Mildred (Sehn) Rogan and had four siblings.

She was a graduate of Carrick High School and the Community College of Allegheny County; a Little League Baseball Coach and an avid bowler and bingo player.  Dawn dedicated her career to being a Caregiver for those who could not care for themselves and was named “Citizen of the Year” by the South Hills Record in the 1990’s.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis “Sonny” Markovich (dod: 6/22/2009) and two of her siblings, James Rogan and Kelly Mason.  She is the cherished and devoted mother of Jennifer (Tom) Spiegel of Pleasant Hills and Brad (Danielle) Markovich of Brentwood Borough in Pittsburgh.  The beloved “Grammy” to Hayley and Chloe; sister of Dan Garland and Annette Procoffie and also survived by nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 www.stephendslater.com on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM.  Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 10 AM in the Brentwood Presbyterian Church 3725 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Her burial will follow in South Side Cemetery 1404 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210 where she will be buried next to her husband.
