Darlene (Eberman) Burkett

Darlene Burkett, age 72 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024. She was born Darlene Sue Eberman, on July 9, 1952, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, oldest of three daughters of Raymond Roy and Lois Arlene (Kreutzman) Eberman.

She grew up in Jefferson Hills, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1971. During and after high school she worked for Schwartz Pharmacy in Pleasant Hills and later was a 29-year employee of the Ringgold School District. Darlene was a huge Pittsburgh sports fan following the Steelers, Pirates and Pitt Panthers. She enjoyed camping and fishing and was an avid Bunco player.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Debra Hughes. She is survived by her son, Jason Koval; her sister, Denise Grant; brother-in-law, Frank “Franco” (Pat Ott) Hughes of Texas; nieces and nephews, Ian Grant, Mackenzie (Craig) Martin, Dayna (Brad) Roberts and Michael (Heidi) Hughes and great nieces and nephews, Ryan Martin, Jacob and Riley Roberts, Landon, Bodie and Lydia Hughes.

Family and friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 1 – 3 and 5 – 8 pm and on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 10 – 11 am. A Celebration of Her Life will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11 am following the morning visitation.

Darlene will be buried in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery with her parents.
