Dale T. Provins, Jr

Dale Thomas Provins, Jr., age 50, a resident of Rostraver Township, Pennsylvania, died on June 13, 2020, following injuries sustained from a June 3rd car accident while on-duty as a Jefferson Hills Police Officer.  Dale was a combat Marine in Kuwait and Iraq during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  He also served honorably as a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.  He was a member of several local police departments before becoming a 15-year veteran of the Jefferson Hills Police Department.

He was born on March 28, 1970 at Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune, NC.  He grew up in McKeesport and Elizabeth Township, PA and graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School in 1988.  Dale earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from California University of Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his fiance', Michelle Lucas; his daughter, Mariah Provins, of Elizabeth Township, PA; his step daughter, Chelsea Lucas, with whom he resided; his mother, Geri (Cuddy) Prinkey, of Rostraver Township PA; his father, Dale T. Provins Sr. & Lorraine (Gabriel), of Buena Vista, PA.; as well as his six brothers and one sister; Peter Sparico, of Rostraver Township, PA and Patrick D Provins, of White Oak, PA.; Thomas K. Provins  & Rose (Hernandez), of Mt Lebanon, PA; Michael D. Provins & Kristine (Santos) of Sanford NC.; Kevin V Provins, of Buena Vista, PA.; and Rachel L (Provins) & John Moss, of Liberty Borough; Christopher T. Werner of Jefferson Hills, PA.,  as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Though a private person, he was kind and compassionate towards others and served those around him as reflected by his military and civil service. Dale was a sweet, gentle, witty person who left an unforgettable impression on anyone he encountered. He will undoubtedly be missed by his extensive family as well the community he served.

Public visitation for Dale will be on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 12 Noon - 7 PM in the Community Rooms on the 2nd floor of the Jefferson Hills Municipal Building.  There will be a Graveside service in Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 12 Noon.
