BETTY JANE MARCASE

Betty Jane Marcase, age 78 of the Floreffe section of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday October 8, 2020. She was born on November 12, 1941 in Berwinsdale, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania one of thirteen children to the Ash and Florence Irene (Holes) Brink and grew up their on the family farm.

Betty Jane worked for US Steel, loved making quilts and baking and doing everything for her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter James Marcase, this past February 26, 2020.  She is also preceded in death by ten of her siblings, sisters, Marian Frailey, Alma Tingle, Geraldine Landros, Isabelle Beam, Naomi McClellan and Helen Johns and brothers, Carl, Raymond, Leroy and Conrad Brink.

She is survived by two daughters, Kim (John) Opfar of Jefferson Hills and Della Conley of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, John L. (Nicolette) Opfar and Jamison Opfar and two sisters, Joy Eckhoff of Ohio and Emma Jean (Steve) Lithem of Colorado.

Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills (412-384-0350) on Monday, October 12, 2020 from 4 – 7 pm.  Betty Jane’s funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at the conclusion of visitation with Chaplin Eric Hertzog officiating the service.  Her burial will be private with her family in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania.

Current restrictions and CDC recommendations will be followed for Betty Jane’s visitation and funeral.  All visitors will be required to wear masks and social distance.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
