ANNAMAE BLACK
Annamae Black age 86 of Clairton, Pennsylvania, died at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. She was born July 15, 1934, Annamae Jean Watko, one of seven children of John S. Watko and Anna H. (Potsh) Watko.
She was a long-time teacher’s aid at the Mon Valley secondary School in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania. Annamae was member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clairton and currently the newly formed Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish. She loved word searches, crafting, adult coloring books and watching TV!
In addition to her parents, Annamae was preceded in death by her husband, John “JD” Black in 1991, her daughter, Audrey Welsh and her son, Joseph Black.
She is survived by three children, sons, Fred (Betty) Black of Centreville, Virginia and Jay (Tracey) Black of Jefferson Hills and daughter, Jaci (James) McCullough of Washington, Pennsylvania; son-in-law, Rick Welsh; daughter-in-law, Jen Adoc-Black; nine grandchildren, Chris (Brigid) Black of Cleveland, Ohio, Jon and Michael Black of Centreville, Mandy (Justin) Dodds and Torrie Black both of Jefferson Hills, Matt (Kate) Welsh of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, Julie (Jake) Voigt of Ross Township, Pennsylvania, Kristen Welsh of South Park, Pennsylvania and Steph (Brad) Polenz of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and eight great grandchildren, Eamon and Ailis Black, Callie and Maggie Dodds, Jackson Welsh, Miles and Maddie Voigt and Esther Polenz.
There will be no viewing or visitation for Annamae. There will be a Memorial Mass for her on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 10 AM, Celebrated in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, the St. Elizabeth Church, One Grove Place, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15236.
